    SUMMARY 

    This months’ UAE Consumer Sentiment Index indicates that consumers are losing confidence for the first time in over a year.

    The ‘economy’ and declining outlook on ‘business’ are the indicators for the drop in sentiment.

    D/A explores the trends occurring across the UAE economy, business and employment since 2020 to predict future movements in sentiment as we move through the slow pandemic summer of 2021.

    “The honeymoon is over, to an extent. The consistent growth of a low base has continued unabated for 12 months and is now taking a pause. It’s noteworthy that net positive sentiment is 20 basis points higher than January 2020. Consumers are getting tired of the Pandemic and summer is magnifying this.”
